| Brittany’s story began on March 19th 2005,
the day she was born prematurely then abandoned by her grandparents
and teenage mother at sister Freda’s cottage hospital in Kitale,
Kenya. It was also the day Lisa, who just happens to be a labor and
delivery nurse in the U.S., arrived for the first time to volunteer
at the hospital. God’s perfect timing of events subsequently
led to Paul Holgate becoming the legally registered guardian
of the newborn who was given the name Brittany May Holgate.
But the Lord’s timing and provision went even further since a
single mother named Anne who also helped at the hospital desperately
needed work to support her two young children and Brittany needed a
caretaker.

Brittany one day old!
Simultaneously the idea and the opportunity to open a guesthouse
in Kitale was presented to Paul as
a way to support his ministry there. The connection was soon
apparent, Brittany needed a home and a caretaker, Anne needed a job
and a home for herself and her kids and Paul needed someone
to work at the guesthouse and to care for Brittany. So in July 2005
the guesthouse was opened, Brittany arrived with Anne and her two
young children Jimmy and Elizabeth and guests stayed at the delightful
old house which is now home to the most unlikely of families. We hope
you too will come and visit and
meet the folks in Brittany’s story. Who knows, you may also
become part of the story too, but in the very least you’ll
help support the continuing ministry work of Paul.
